Programming involves determining the exact size of project components, and creating a correct relationship between spaces.

Master Planning takes this information and optimizes the location on the land, making best use of views, winds, water and natural features

Many people are looking for ways to use existing forest or farmland, creating event spaces and retreat centers in nature.  Centers may have specific architectural needs that are quite different from typically residential use, such as structures for gathering, prayer, or for a specific creative purpose.

4D design can assist in "mapping" the features on a land, and designing specific gardens, groves, temples and other sacred structures.

The beauty of retreat centers is that the Architecture can be radically pure, a direct embodiment of your purpose.

If your site does not currently allow your vision, 4D Design will do a code review to see if the code can be tweaked or if the project can be classified in a way that allows the spirit of the code and the programmatic goals to both be met.

4D Design will also correspond with the governing authority to establish the zoning framework.

Once the site strategy and program have been established, we begin to create form, starting with your core principles and values and balancing the needs of the site.
